Witches from every country, each infamous throughout the world for the horrors they reap, have gathered under the banner of Simone Noir'e - the on-again off-again head of the Dark Hour Coven.
France was growing bold in their persecutions of the hags and it was decided that a new land would suit them. In 1803 they took the ample funds that they had acquired and built Coven Manor. In the fresh, American-purchased Louisiana, a sprawling and luxurious manner with rooms to spare for their numbers.
Louisiana had insects to carry plague, Reptiles to eat the unwanted and easy access to swamp, river and port. The Manor itself had twisting hallways, rotting cemeteries, a poisonous greenhouse, and placement for wretched and vile humans practicing the terrifying art of voodoo, the land they’ve claimed is full of the supernatural. Here they wait and bring about the time in which the coven will rise from the shadows… the Dark Hour.
Through time Coven Manor has endured all things, from tremendous storms, local Indian tribes who attempted to destroy the crones, and even the Civil War raging through the country could not shake the foundations of the coven, which still stands firm. In the 1960’s, cleansing fire ravaged the nest of hags, it has been used as a factory, an inn, and even a school for girls. Each time the coven resurfaced and infected the manor. The witches will not be stopped.
The witches, all with specialties they have cultivated through the centuries, fight and argue among themselves over who is the best choice of leader. Thirteen witches live within this storybook coven; each year one is struck down and another rises to take her place giving no shortage of fresh hells to endure, guaranteeing new and terrifying evils will rise to bring about the sickening and vile time of the Dark Hour.
